ECMA - Music New Brunswick!

Amazing weekend here in Sydney despite the horrible roads and weather. Got the pleasure of catching the Music New Brunswick Showcase at the Crown and Moose Delta lounge and at the Music New Brunswick Suite. We joined the first showcase during Kendra Gale’s set, great young performer from St. Andrews who with a few more years of performances could be one of the pride and joys of the Maritimes.

After Kendra’s set we caught Mike Biggar from Rothsey who’s original content was impressive, soulful voice and an amazing cover of Aerosmiths Dream On. Great personality and stage presence a very early surprise in the festival. Hopefully we will be able to get him touring more of NB and the rest of Maritimes this spring and summer.

The Penny Blacks closed the Music NB show on Thursday morning to a good crowd and put on a fantastic show. This is a hard genre of music to brand with the unique vocals and the beautiful violin the Penny Blacks are a NB treasure that will hopefully catch more steam in the coming months.
