Golden, Fernie, possible disaster and an amazing drive to Vancouver

We made our way through the big horn sheep herds and rolled into Golden after yet another bluebird day of driving from Jasper. Aside from all the crazy truckers, it was phenominal. The Rockwater bar and grill is probably the only place to really play in Golden now. We have found that the message from all theese ski hill towns is the same........hill closes, so does the town. But we managed to have some people turn out for our shows and the sound/food was Fantastic, thanks Ryan! After Locking my… Continue

AC Rich and Scotty Sail The Country: Taking care of Buisness

Rich and i awoke to yet another bluebird day. We decided to slap on the old hiiking shoes and assault the Little beehive, a fantastic 9 km trek to the Lake agnes tea house and on to the beehive lookout. We were barajas deep in snow at points but we made it to one of the most seenic lookouts in Lake Louise. Spectacular. We were set to play Stables pub that night and after a sauna session at the hostel we made our way up the hill to one of the highest bars in Canada.

Stables is the…

AC Rich and Scotty Sail the Country, Big Shows, Big Mountains and wonderful friends

Yeeeesir. Our first show in Calgary was at Dickens pub on 9th street. Located beneath a liquor store and some shops the basment opens up into a massive room and has a wonderful stage. We spent the day shirts off playing washers and frisbee with Chuck and Phil. A little bbq and we were set for a perfect day. The show was fun, quiet but wednesday is wednesday. Lots of friends came out and we sold some merch so all in all a fantastic day of tour.

Thursday we did much of the sam as the last.… Continue

Owen Steel et al; Eh Canadian Tour blog #13 THE END!

The Long Train Home

We said goodbye to our van dwelling friends and caught the train dark and early (it wasn't bright and early because the sun wasn't up yet). We located our room and

immediately went to sleep, we were going to be on this train for 3

days, so it was time to catch up on rest.

The…

AC Rich and Scotty sail the Country, Alberta, Pork Tenderloin and Amazing Views

We had 2 days off after our Edmonton show so we remained low key and rolled with Jonny and Pam. Nothing like having a few Alpine in Alberta! We decided to go all in and have a 20$ by in Texas Hold em poker game the first night. I took a commanding lead early on but soon fell prey to the slippery ways of Scotty Sampson. Sammy took the pot in a great game.

Keeping with tradition, Jonny had a Wii stocked up with new and old school nintendo games. Rich took it upon himself to beat yet another… Continue

AC Scotty and Rich Sail the country, Long haul, finally in Alberta.

Our show at the Park theater was the tits. BIg stage and great sound. We closed the show following some great Winnipeg Bluegrass and a band called Thieves. Our set was 40 mins, short but we laid it down/ sold some cd's and had great music talk with the bluegrass boys. I finally got to meet ED Vorst who put on the benefit, a fantastic guy who really took care of us in WInnipeg. So with a great show under us, we had to book it to Edmonton from Winnipeg for our show last night. For those of you… Continue

AC Rich and Scotty Sail the Country - Long drives, windy roads, cheap motels and amazing scenery

We hauled ass from Toronto to Thunder Bay, a 16 hour stretch laiden with fod, single lane highway and long stretches of nothing. We rolled into Thunder bay early morning and Checked into the Voyager Motel right on the water, and next to the train tracks. The manager kindly gave us 25 dollars in free c***** vouchers and before we could think about it we were all passed out until later that evening. We spent the night resting up and made a short visit to the casine, no big winners but we stuck…

East!

Last I typed, we were rolling east in a greyhound bus towards Kamloops, I'll pick up from there. We were dropped off at the bus station, once again not having any clue of how

to get where we were going (at this stop we didn't even really know

where we were going...) so we did what has worked on the west coast

for us; found a starbucks, drank coffee and used free…

AC Rich and Scotty Sail the Country 6, The Troubadour, Celtic Fusion, and unbelievable events.

Mike Ogrady, remember the name folks.
The Day started off with RIch and i walking to meet W-S downtown. Some beautiful window dancers and the sight of the beer store was a nice view. It was great to have a few hours to walk the city and blend in. We had no idea what was in store for the show last night and only a street number for the location of the venue.....but thats all we needed.
The Troubadour is located on West Dundas (the Junction). It is your typical thin bar wedged in…

AC Rich and Scotty Sail the County 5, Toronto

We some great downtime to charge the batteries yesterday and gear up for the Local. Last night we had an amazing list of peeps from the east come out and support us.

Ginny, Tristan, Matt, Helen, W-S, Pat, Brittany and Company, Demsky, Henaya, Andrea, Brett, Stephie, Scott, Geoff and many others having a time! The Set was fantastic with Marcus Wong painting… Continue

AC Rich and Scotty Sail the Country 4, Intimate and Awsome.

We woke up and had the day to spend in Peterborough. The Spill offered us the usual room above the bar and we found lots of nice notes from all the bands that have played there, including Owen and Mumble! FANTASTIC. The show was low key and we were upstairs watching Rich destroy Mario 3 in no time! We woke to a beautiful sunny day and some time to kill walking/running around town. Scotty and i are running every day possible, and Rich is the man of the Walk, knocking down city blocks like it's… Continue

When I left off I think I was sitting in a train car in the rain.....

Our only show of the Jasper – Vancouver line was in the back car (the Gold Class), we played for a mixed crowd, literally there were infants, toddlers, kids, teen

agers, 20 somethings, 30 somethings, recent retirees and one

septuagenarian. It was a fun show, a little boy named Johnny kept

stealing the…
