My first CD now online for your enjoyment!

Check out the mother of the Moses D. song series!  Presenting "5 (Five) Car Joust" from the belly of the beast that is Saint John, New Brunswick.  Recorded with the help or Sean Roach, Jon Goud, Steve Fudge, Troy Chenier, Mike Belyea, and Adam Mowery!  This is a musical journey into madness.  Not really, but it is rather bizarre to say the least.  I hope you dig it!  We did when we made it.  Good tunes, good folks, and good times.  Thanks again for all of the help on this…

Well, It's a New Year, Here's What's Up With Me

Hey Feelsgood!  So it's 2013 and I have a new album coming out, this one's called Rearrange and it's being released in March, and I am very excited about it.  It was all recorded in Halifax at Echo Chamber with Charles Austen, and it was produced by the irascible Mike Trask (actually he's pretty mild - tempered).  I'll be revealing the art and track list soon, and in March I'll be going out on the road to promote it, so I'll see you out there.  Check out my…

Summer Festival Season 2013!

So its never too early to be thinking about the upcoming festival season.....its what gets us through these cold dark days of winter where indoor hulahooping in your long johns with Zach Deputy cranked on the stereo is as close to a summer festival is as you are going to get.

But I know this is the time of year where all the festival promoters are typing feverishly preparing for the upcoming season; playing phone tag with agents, peek-a-boo with self represented touring…

Venice: a blog about Venice

Venice is a wondrous maze. The streets of which have no apparent orderly structure; sometimes as wide as boulevards, others so narrow a person of normal stature has to turn sideways to avoid brushing up against the walls, which tower above you, so askew in time that their roofs practically touch. More often then not, leading to a small barren courtyard, a dead end, or into any one of the numerous canals. The houses themselves are mostly ancient and beautiful in their obscurities.…

Day 105 of my European adventure: an excerpt

I'm beginning this journal titled "Europe Part 2" on DAY 108 of my trip while in Venice sitting at a very fancy desk, in the classic venetian style, in a hotel room which is painted a garish mint color. Haley is behind me on the bed; consisting of a queen sized frame which matches said desk with 2 single mattresses attempting to impersonate a proper queen sized mattress and doing a absolutely horrid job of it. Haley's favorite color is mint. Their are 2 cute masks on the fancy venetian desk,… Continue

A brief summary of the past 3 weeks.

Originally I was planning on writing my next blog on the follow up to the whole break in fiasco. About how things turned out in the end, what I learned from the experience etc. etc. However, I just noticed that 3 weeks has passed since the incident (crazy!) and 3 weeks of stuff has happened. So instead I will give a brief summery country by country of those said weeks.

Dropped off the car to get the window fixed, attempted to walk back to my new… Continue

The European Break in: Or, I've decided to forgo my past title format (Part 1)

I was going to write this Blog about Berlin, about wandering about drinking in the streets, about my 7 ft tall Scotish friend causeing a rucas in a interprative dance hall yelling my name at the top of his considerable lungs, about me losing him and finding out the next morning he spent the night in the drunk tank and about how German security guards don't take kindly to shortcuts, then Prague happened.

I arrived in Prague right at rushhou, and the free parking I had found online…

Europe: Week 5 (and 6): The beginnings of stage 2, or, remembering how to think, or, the art of liviing in your car

IIts been a while since my last Blog, and thats mostly due to the commencment of me truely living on the road.

While on the British Isles, no matter where I went, I was always guarenteed a spot to crash, under a roof, with handy washing facilities. However, now that I've madee my way onto Europa propper, this is no longer a luxury I can count on. From here on in, (other then some graciously offered couches in Turkey and Switzerland) it's all up to chance and the occasional splurge… Continue

Europe week 4: The Isle of Skye, or Why I believe in Faeries

O.k, to start this entry off, I have to make a few things clear. When I say  I believe in Faeries, I don't necessarily mean that I believe in miniature humans with gossamer wings fluttering about the woodlands beaconing us to join in their merry regales.  However, I am completely convinced that their are other beings which inhabit planes of existence which may or may not overlay our own dimension. Beings whom the philosophers and alchemists of old entitled "elementals" whom are essentially… Continue

Europe week 3: The Islay Whisky Tour

Day 15: The Island of Islay

After driving through the wild rocky coast of Argyle, and taking 3 Ferries, which cost an exorbitant amount of quid, I arrived on Islay and was greeted with a coastline reminiscent of  Newfoundlands rolling rocky shoreline.

This place was beautiful, in an exposed and weathered kind of beauty. The small villages along the one track road (like a one way but with on coming traffic) seem almost mediterranean with their whitewashed plaster and blue… Continue

Europe Week 2: On the road, or curse you roundabouts!

I've decided I'm just not a big fan of France. It may be the language thing, or remenants of negitave memories from when I was 13ish and came to grenoble with CISV and stayed with local Family, or it could smply be the complete terror I experiance in Paris..

Whatever the reason, after 2.5 days wandering about I decided to get back to the U.K.

Reflections on driving in Great Britain.

- After learning to drive standard in the madness of Paris, driving on the… Continue

Tim Chaisson’s new album “The Other Side” Review and Interview

“The Other Side” Album Review

Tim Chaisson has been playing music for as long as I can remember. Being somewhat active in the music scene in the Maritimes I had heard of the famous Chaisson family long before I heard young Tim’s music. With the new album “The Other Side” he is doing his family proud. The album is full of strong melodies and catchy choruses that will have everyone singing along.

“The Other Side” is a great follow up to his last album…

Europe: The Paris Car Pick up, or, my escape from Paris.

Day 7:

Paris, for lack of a better word, was terrifying. Well, getting out of it was, getting into it was simply a little lonesome. It was my first experience with the whole language barrier thing. Once I arrived in the city, the task of finding my hastily booked hostel stood before me.

1st step: Find the metro.

solution: ask the bus driver.

2nd step: figure out closest stop to hostel.

solution: ask the metro people

3rd step: Find the… Continue

Europe Week 1: A change of pace, or, Glasgow hates dubstep

When I started to plan this vacation, I knew it would be anything but boring, for some reason interesting things just seem to happen all the time with me. To start this trip off, Haley and I left a day before my flight from Halifax to have a final 24ish hour goodbye, rented a hotel went out for sushi, you know, quality time stuff. Everything was wonderful until about 7 hours before my flight. The realization that I was on the move was dawning on us, and the hours were melting through our hands.… Continue
