ARTISTS ANNOUNCED FOR 2nd ANNUAL LARLEE CREEK HULLABALOO

The hottest new music festival on the East Coast is set for August 22, 2009 and with this year’s impressive line-up boasting a number of ECMA and Maple Blues Award nominees and winners, it promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s inaugural event.

Lynn Daigle, Manager and band member of Chris Colepaugh and Cosmic Crew, quoted about last year’s festival: “The Larlee Creek Hullabaloo was a magical combination of the right people with the right resources and the right music. For those that were there, they will have the memories of the most spontaneous (and wowing) jams I’ve seen in a long time. And for those that missed it … well, what can I say other than …You don’t want to miss HULLABALLOO TWO!”

The Larlee Creek Hullabaloo is 12 hours of consecutive music from some of the greatest performers the East Coast has to offer. The festival begins at 2pm with the “Tweener Show.” Preselected aspiring musicians get an opportunity to showcase their talent at the beginning of the day, with three acts gaining coveted spots to play in between the headlining artists later in the evening.

Kicking off the Hullabaloo with afternoon performances are Andy Brown, Irish Mythen, and Darrell Grant. 2008 was a big year for Andy Brown as he was nominated one of the top five finalists for the 2008 Galaxie Rising Star Award (NB). Irish Mythen has been wowing crowds all over the world and has also performed alongside some of the Canada’s top performing acts. Darrell Grant, now a performing solo artist, was once the singer / songwriter / guitarist behind the exciting contemporary folk trio, MODABO, who were twice nominated in the East Coast Music Award Category, Group of the Year.

The afternoon will come to a close with the Little Hullabaloo which unites several artists for a song writer’s circle where performers will share stories and experiences which will be sure to wow the audience. After the Little Hullabaloo the stage will come alive with performances by Theresa Melenfant & the Instigators, The Stanfields, Andrew Hunter and the Gatherers, The Tom Fun Orchestra, and Matt Andersen. Theresa has been nominated for a number of East Coast Music Awards (ECMA’s) and Canadian Maple Blues Awards over the years, including a win for ECMA Best Female Artist ’95. The Stanfields are a maelstrom of rock and roll, bluegrass, Celtic and blues. Their kitchen party harmonies, ruthless rhythm section, high octane stage show and genuine chemistry have won over audiences clear across their tiny corner of the world. Andrew Hunter & the Gatherers are a high energy three-piece alt/rock band based in Halifax, Nova Scotia but Andrew originally hails from Florenceville, NB. Their new self-titled CD was released March 2009, and you can hear the first single “The Feel Good Song” on your local radio station. The Tom Fun Orchestra is an eight-piece cluster-rock ensemble from Cape Breton Island that has an unconventional lineup of violin, banjo, accordion, and trumpet married to a driving rock trio that is redefining what people think of Canada’s East Coast music. The band is creating a timeless, unique sound that bridges generational gaps and defies musical clichés. Perth-Andover’s own Matt Andersen has an enigmatic personality that is coupled with a larger than life showmanship that has been earning him a fervent and steadfast audience wherever he graces the stage. Matt has shared the stage and toured with America, Randy Bachman, Bo Diddley, Little Feat and a host of others. His newest album “Something In Between” picked up recent wins at the 2009 ECMA’s for both the 'Blues Recording of the Year' & 'Male Solo Recording of the Year' categories.

The night will end with the “Big Hullabaloo”…the no-holds barred jam session where all the artists come together for a spontaneous performance that is sure to bring the crowd to their feet.
